Music Down the Aisle: Wildest Dreams- Bridgerton Cover-Duomo | First Dance Song: Yours to Hold- Skillet (acoustic)
Hailey and Lucas met in 2014 when they were just 19 and both in the same unit in the army. Though in the same unit, they were in different platoons and despite having friends in common, it was months before the two ever met but a carpool one fateful day would change their lives forever. After dating for seven years, Hailey and Lucas realized they had never gone on a trip together so they planned a mini vacation to Chicago. But COVID happened and their trip got postponed. It wasn’t until 2022 that they got to finally head to the windy city. In 2020, Lucas hadn’t really thought about getting married but by 2022, he was ready and the rooftop of their Chicago hotel made the perfect spot for a proposal.

It’s the kind of setting that doesn’t just look amazing in photos—it feels real while it’s happening.

“Our favorite part was incorporating our nerdy personalities by adding Lord of the Rings and Marvel references within both our vows, which we never shared with each other before the ceremony.”

Reception Venue: SentryWorld – The Atrium

There were so many gorgeous areas on the property, but the ceiling of The Atrium was beautiful. Plus, being in Stevens Point, we were being married very close to where we first met at our unit in Junction City.

Tell us about your reception, favorite moments and what made it unique:
This is a tough choice, we did so many fun things unique to our relationship. We started with our grand entrance, which was a game of flip cup, team bride vs team groom. Flip cup was our thing when we started dating. Then we had a caricature artist hired to do live pictures of our guests. That was a huge hit, he was there for 3 hours and had a line the entire time. Then at the late night snack (tacos) we had the sauces out to try from the “Hot Ones” YouTube show. Lucas and I love trying new hot sauces, and tacos are my fav so this was such a cute personal add in to our late night snack time.

What are three words that describe your wedding day?
Candid, encapsulating, dreamy.
What was your biggest wedding splurge?
Videography, and so worth it.
What moment sticks with you the most?
The moment we exchanged vows. We are not very open about our passion for each other and doing it in front of our loved ones just felt so special.
What advice or tips would you share with other couples currently planning their wedding?
The moments you make on your wedding day are meant to last a lifetime, just as how your relationship has brought you to this point of commitment stay true. The day should be represented how the couple wants it, they should feel in control of their day, as it’s their love story. We did what we wanted, despite our nerdy touches, and straying from tradition we’ve heard nothing but positive feedback. Stay true to your love and represent the relationship.
