Amanda & Kyle’s Green Bay Wedding

Months to Plan: 12 | Guest Count: 215 |
Music down the Aisle: Another (Wedding Version) – Adam Doleac | First Dance Song: Heaven – Jason Aldean
A classic winter wedding that was full of energy!

How it started

Amanda and Kyle met through the online dating app Plenty of Fish and they had their first date at the NEW Zoo. Just like their meeting and first date, their engagement was also slightly unconventional. Kyle has always been a very giving person, especially when it comes to kids. As Christmas rolled around, the couple went shopping for gifts to donate to Toys for Tots. Shopping was followed by dinner at one of their favorite spots, Iron Duck. Amanda loves Christmas lights so dinner was followed by drinks at Hinterland and a walk through the lights of the Titletown District. As the weather got a little chilly, the couple sat by the fire where Kyle completely surprised Amanda by getting down on one knee and proposing.

The Planning

Planning a February wedding in Wisconsin is never an easy task. However, Amanda got a jumpstart on ideas by attending the Stadium View Wedding Show. Amada states that she’s a super organized person who loves planning things so she really enjoyed the planning process for her wedding. The couple’s wedding colors were black and emerald green with gold accents. Amanda saw the wedding dress of her dreams, designed by Essence of Australia, in a TikTok video from a store in MN. Though a trip to the store resulted in her trying on five dresses, nothing compared to the one in the video. She left with her TikTok dream dress.

The Ceremony

Amanda and Kyle wed in February 2024 and say they would describe their wedding day as romantic, high-energy, and classic. The couple held their classic ceremony at the beautiful Hamlet Creek. Their ceremony was traditional and held at the venue’s glass altar which sits over streaming water. What wasn’t so traditional about their ceremony was their “unity ceremony.” Where most couples might light a candle together to symbolize the merging of their two lives, Amanda and Kyle chose to mix their favorite beers to toast their union.

The Photos

Amanda and Kyle decided to hire a party bus from Bash on Wheels to take the wedding party from the ceremony to take photos and then on to the reception. The couple says this was one of their favorite things that they planned. The couple hired Alyssa Sachs Photography and Studio K Creatives to capture their special day in photos and video. The party bus made its way from the ceremony to Baird Creek for photos. With the groomsmen in their black tuxedos and the bridesmaids in their emerald green velvet dresses, the wedding party looked like a holiday card set against the backdrop of the glistening snow and birch trees.

The Reception

With a guest count of just over 200, the couple had their reception at Stadium View Event Hall. The couple chose to have their first dance when they first arrived at the reception. The first dance was followed by a classic family-style chicken dinner, catered by Stadium View. Rather than a head table, the couple had a king’s table with the entire wedding party. One of the unique parts of the reception was a 50/50 raffle with half of the money going to the couple and the other half going to the winning ticket. Though, in this case, the winner snuck their prize into the card box for the couple to keep. The couple also had a small cake from Nothing Bundt Cake and served their guests gelato provided by Fun Factory. Following dinner, the DJ from Signature Entertainment DJs cranked up the music and the rest of the evening was spent partying on the dance floor and snapping pictures at the photobooth, also from Signature Entertainment DJs.

Advice for Future Brides

Amanda says the one thing that she wished she would have done for her wedding was plan a little private time for just her and Kyle. Amanda’s advice for future brides is to “do what feels right for you. Don’t let social media influence you to make it an over-the-top event and put you into debt. And, no matter what little hiccups arrive, just go with the flow.”
